In recent months, several large enterprises have been targeted by social engineering attacks, resulting in unauthorized access to data within their internal or third-party  systems.

Unlike purely technical cybersecurity attacks, social engineering attacks focus on manipulating human trust. Attackers often pose as HR or IT personnel, contacting employees through text or phone calls and tricking them into revealing login credentials or other personal information. So, how can companies strengthen their defenses against such threats?

Here are some Paraview solutions that can help mitigate the risks:

  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Paraview MFA provides adaptive authentication based on real-time analysis of user location, device, and behavioral patterns. If a login attempt looks unusual, additional authentication methods (biometrics, OTP, FIDO-based authentication) can be required. This ensures that even if credentials are stolen, attackers cannot easily gain access.
  • Data Access Management (DAM): With Paraview DAM, organizations can define precise access controls: who can reach the database, and what data they are allowed to see and operate. By enforcing least-privilege principles, applying data masking, and continuously monitoring activity, DAM can prevent unauthorized users from exploiting stolen accounts to exfiltrate sensitive information.
  • Passwordless Authentication: Through Paraview Single Sign-On(SSO) and advanced authentication methods like FIDO-based and biometric authentication, organizations can reduce password use and risky user behaviors. By minimizing reliance on passwords, the attack surface for phishing and credential theft is significantly reduced.

In addition to applying layered security measures, companies should also strengthen employee security awareness training to stay vigilant against social engineering attacks.
